Guided by faith, purpose, and partnership, our leadership team connects communities across Israel and North America — expanding Ma’agalim’s circle of impact and hope.

Our Team

  • ASSAF WEISS, Founder & CEO

A former soldier turned educator, Assaf founded Ma’agalim in 1999 to help at-risk Israeli teens rediscover purpose and hope. His vision: that every young person carries divine potential waiting to be seen.

  • SAMUEL FRANCO, Executive Director

A seasoned nonprofit leader with deep roots in Jewish philanthropy, he leads AFM’s mission to expand Ma’agalim’s circle of impact. Passionate about connecting hearts to purpose, he builds bridges between Israel and North America to strengthen the future of Israel’s youth.

  • SHIRELLE AVREKY, Director of Partnerships and Graduate Program

A bilingual relationship-builder driven by purpose, she leads Ma’agalim’s partnerships and graduate initiatives with creativity, precision, and heart. She forges meaningful connections, strengthens community ties, and ensures every graduate is supported with the organization’s core value in mind: people first, always.

  • JENNIFER FRANCO, OT, Director of Operations

A detail-oriented leader with a background in child development and family support, she brings structure, empathy, and operational discipline to AFM. An environmental health advocate who forges connections, seeks people out, and opens doors, she strengthens every community she touches.
